United Way Northumberland is accepting funding applications for the Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF). The fund provides financial support to charities and other qualified recipients adapting their front line services to support vulnerable Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic.
United Way Northumberland says it is proud to support the important investment of $228,218 into our local communities. Organizations will be funded that provide direct services to vulnerable populations who are impacted by COVID-19.
Applications will be accepted until Thursday, June 19, 2020, before 4 p.m. We anticipate a high volume of requests and are working to ensure that all requests are reviewed as quickly as possible.
“This partnership between United Way Centraides and the Government of Canada recognizes that local United Ways are uniquely positioned in their communities to respond to some of the most pervasive issues facing our residents,” says Bobbie Dawson, Executive Director, Northumberland United Way. “Here in Northumberland County, we will work together with community partners who are closest to those most vulnerable to rapidly respond to the needs in our community. This will ensure that the Emergency Community Support Funding will go to those organizations most directly affected by COVID-19.”
