The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board and the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario – Kawartha Pine Ridge Local, are pleased to announce that they have ratified a new collective agreement for contract teachers, effective September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2022 .
The Board’s approximately 1400 contract elementary teachers have been without a collective agreement since September, 2019.
“We are very happy to have reached an agreement with KPRDSB that fairly represents both teachers and the Board,” said Teacher Local President Shirley Bell. “We are grateful for our relationship with the Board that allowed us to negotiate in a fair and mutually respectful manner. Reaching a deal means that together we can focus our energies on the safety of our educators and students as we plan for an unprecedented start to the school year.”
“We are very pleased that we have been able to come to an agreement that meets the needs of both parties and reflects the contributions of our outstanding teaching staff,” says Diane Lloyd, Board Chairperson. “This agreement was reached through collaboration, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to supporting student interests. Our collaborative work will continue as we prepare for the safe return of students and staff to our schools.”
