Thousands of Hydro One customers across Quinte are without power this morning, morning, due to Sunday night’s heavy wind storm.
Locally, outages are being reported in Brighton, Colborne, Cobourg, Port Hope, Trenton, Bayside, Prince Edward County, Centre Hastings and North Hastings.
In Quinte West, road closures currently in-effect include: Hamilton Rd. from Aikins Road to Jeffrey Drive and County Road 64 from Alyea Road to the Brighton Road Swing Bridge. In Prince Edward County, Doxsee Road in Sophiasburgh Ward is also closed between Jericho Road and County Road 14, due to downed hydro poles. The municipality says Hydro One is reporting that the road closure could last for several days.

Northumberland County is reporting downed trees/powerlines at County Road 74 (Dale Road) – from Hamilton Road to Theatre Road and County Road 21 (Dundonald Road) – from Mutton Road to Shiloh Road. There is no estimated time for the roads to re-open at this time (crews are also working to repair damaged traffic signals.) Stay tuned to Oldies 100.9 for the latest.
