A Rainfall Warning has been issued by Environment Canada.
Rain is forecast develop over the region Thursday morning and expected to continue through the night and likely be heavy at times.
Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm are expected with this event.
By Friday morning, Christmas Day, the rain is expected change to scattered flurries or periods of snow as temperatures drop to below the freezing mark. A few centimetres of snow will be possible.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
