The owner of TD Accounting Services and Quinte Business Accounting Services is offering some helpful information, for tax season this year.
Tammatha Denyes says during the pandemic, it’s important to do your research when looking for a professional to prepare your taxes – She suggests discussing COVID-19 safety protocols that are in-effect and asking about virtual options that could help make the process easier, if you prefer to complete your taxes virtually.
She adds that options such as digital signatures and having a phone conversation with the person who will be completing your taxes instead of visiting in-person, can help to ensure a safe and contactless process this year.
Denyes outlines some of the tax documents that you might be receiving in the mail, over the next few weeks.
She adds that everyone’s tax situation is unique, so it’s best to speak with a professional if you have any questions about how to file your taxes this year and the documents that you will need (including if you received CERB payments, were laid-off due to the pandemic or recently started a new job.)
