Major money is being spent to help out festivals across Ontario, including here in Northumberland.
As part of a $50 million pledge by the province, the Northumberland Diversity Festival and Winter Festival in Cobourg will get $41,580 and $28,320 each.
The Port Hope Candlelight Festival is also getting over $13,500 and Cultivate Festival will receive $18,500.
Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries, says increasing support for festival and events will give the tourism sector a much-needed boost as we continue to deal with the effects of COVID-19.
