Cobourg Police have challenged the Cobourg Fire Department to compete in an obstacle course while wearing high heels to raise funds for this year’s Walk A Mile event in support of Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre.
Taking place at on Saturday, September 25 at the Cobourg Fire Department each team will not only create an obstacle course for their opponents but also must succeed in completing the challenges put before them by their adversaries.
Both Cornerstone and the Walk A Mile organization aim to break the cycle of family and gender-based violence. WAM does this by raising awareness of the issue, gets people talking, and provides a means of raising the funds for those in need. Cornerstone provides immediate shelter, counselling, and prevention services throughout Northumberland County with the help of such fundraisers.
