The Brighton & District Curling Club is opening their season strong with a near full roster of returning curlers and a waiting list for their Adult Learn to Curl program, while fulfilling all the new health and safety guidelines and protocols.
Adhering to the new provincial guidelines requiring all people entered a sporting facility to prove their vaccination status, the Brighton & District Curling Club will continue to practice increased safety measures for its members in order to protect each other and their community.
“Some clubs are returning to two sweepers,” said Susan Ruffo – Club President. “We are going to continue to allow only one sweeper. Also while masks are not mandatory to wear on the ice, we are encouraging our players to continue to wear them whenever possible as an extra safety measure.”
While registration has officially closed for the season there are a few spots left on the rooster so the Club can accept a few late comers.
The 4th annual Adult Learn to Curl program has also proved to be in high demand, completely booked with a waiting list.
“This program has everything related to the game from getting on and off the ice safely to how to win a game,” added Ruffo.
Ruffo says the club also continues to look to the future of the sport.
With both the ice ready and the clubhouse set with all the proper social distancing guidelines, the Brighton & District Curling Club is looking forward to October, with a strong re-opening of their season.
