A 57-year-old man died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Northumberland OPP say on Monday afternoon, an unresponsive man was found in a building in Hamilton Township.
Emergency services transported the victim, along with five firefighters who had attempted medical rescue, to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Technical Standards and Safety Authority were notified and are attending.
The victim has been identified as Duane Pitchforth of Courtice.
