Cobourg and Port Hope will be receiving $1.1 million in storm and wastewater infrastructure funding from the provincial government.
Northumberland-Peterborough South MPP David Piccini announced the funding last Friday, saying that it aims to reduce sewage discharge in Lake Ontario and support solutions that will fight pollution and ensure cleaner drinking water.
Piccini was joined by Bob Crate, Warden of Northumberland County; John Henderson, Mayor of Cobourg and Bob Sanderson, Mayor of Port Hope.
The funding is part of a $25 million initiative to build, upgrade and rehabilitate storm and wastewater infrastructure across the province.
