Dimitrios and Maria Romanidis immigrated to Canada over 47 years ago from Greece and settled in the Trenton area, and operated a business there for over 44 years. They recently retired from that business but were inspired to open a new take-out business in Hastings, Roma’s Pizzeria.
“Mom and Dad noticed that there wasn’t a pizzeria in Hastings and decided to open Roma’s here in Hastings,” said Teri Romanidis – daughter. “They prepare everything fresh, nothing is frozen, and they even make their own pizza dough each night so that it is ready for the next day.”
More than pizza, Roma’s offers both Italian and Greek options, along with many Canadian favourites too. Their complete menu can be found online at https://romas-pizzeria.square.site/.
“We have full dinners, pasta dishes, schnitizel and chicken or pork souvlaki and lemon chicken, each with side of potatoes and salad,” added Romanidis. “We also make poutine, fish and chips and we are also getting well known for our panzarottis too.”
Officially opening on March 21st, Mayor and Council members of the Municipality of Trent Hills will be in attendance at 3:30 pm for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
“We will be offering specials all day and we will have a hockey jersey door prize that we will be choosing the winner later in the evening,” added Romanidis.
Currently they are offering a 2 for 1 for pasta, choice of spaghetti, baked lasagna, or fettuccine alfredo. They also offer gluten free options for their pizzas and if you are trying to cut down on carbs, they also offer salads too.
Open Monday to Sunday, 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, the next time you are in Hastings stop by and try a take- out order. Roma’s Pizzeria is located at 8 Water Street, Unit 6 in Hastings, Ontario. You can also call in your order by calling (705) 696-1414 or emailing romaspizzeria1414@gmail.com.
