Brighton has welcomed a new fire chief.
Gene Thompson, a Brighton resident, joins Brighton Fire and Emergency Services as its new top firefighter.
Oldies 100.9 spoke to Thompson and asked him about the change from Deputy Chief in Cobourg to his new position in Brighton.
At a recent council meeting, Mayor Brian Ostrander took a moment to welcome Thompson, joking that while it’s not a far drive, the Municipality is none the less pleased to have him in Brighton.
