Bike riding is fun for children, its good exercise, and it can give your child a sense of independence, but a bike is a vehicle, not a toy, so it’s important that your child knows how to ride safely.
Bike Action Trent Hills is presenting a free event for children who are aged 8/ 9+, because they will soon be too old to ride on the sidewalk.
Heidi Schaeffer of Bike Action Trent Hills told us more.
Schaeffer said the training is targeted at kids who are beginning to ride on the road.
Thanks to sponsorship of the Rotary Club, Trent Hills Fire Department and Trent Hills Public Library, Bike Action Trent Hills has organized certified CanBike Trainers from Cycle Transitions to be at Kennedy Park in Campbellford on May 28th, 2022. There, the trainers will be conducting 3, 1 hour sessions at 10:00 am, 11:15 am and 1:00 pm. During the sessions, they will be teaching children the rules of the road and bike safety skills.
Every child who attends will receive free bell for their bike.
Kennedy Park is located at 170 Saskatoon Avenue in Campbellord. Pre-registration is required – signup your child by registering them for a session or visit their Facebook group page.
