It won’t be a normal Tuesday for many local students in the public school board.
As storm clean-up continues, KPR officials decided to close some schools because of continued power outages, recommendations to avoid unnecessary travel and ongoing emergency services work.
Closed today are Hastings Public School, North Hope Central, Percy Centennial, Plainville and Roseneath Centennial.
According to the information provided by the Catholic board, all of its schools in Northumberland have power and therefore are open. A caveat to that however is an acknowledgment it might be tough for some to attend, and those going should only do so if they can do it safely.
Families are being asked to be cautious of any obstacles or hazards that may be blocking sidewalks and other normal routes to school.
