Recent rainfall has caused high water levels on local waterways.
Until further notice, travelers on the Severn, Trent and Otonabee rivers are cautioned by Parks Canada to expect higher than normal water levels and flows.
Additionally, from Lock 1 in Trenton to Lock 27 at Young’s Point, flows will increase outside of regular navigation hours as the result of water management dam adjustments being made to compensate for recent precipitation.
Boaters are warned that these overnight flows should be considered as NON-navigable.
The last month has exceeded normal rainfall amounts by 50 to 75 percent.
