Masking Mandates have ended, but Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reminds everyone that COVID has not disappeared.
As of June 11 Ontarians are not longer required to wear masks in most public settings. Long term care and retirement homes are the big exception and you’ll find that many hospitals will still require you to wear a mask.
HKPR District Health Unit’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr Natalie Bocking, says that we’re heading in the right direction with case positivity rates trending downwards, but that’s no reason to let down our guard.
Proper fitting masks provide an easy and effective layer of protection against COVID-19 and you may want to consider using them still if it makes you comfortable or where there are large crowds.
Something to consider as we begin to get together again in large groups and with Canada Day celebration around the corner.
