A Trans Peer Outreach program has received a grant from a local women’s fundraising group.
The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge announced that they had been selected as the recipient of the latest grant from the 100 Women of Northumberland, receiving $6,700 to go towards their Trans Peer Outreach program.
Hoping to make an impact and create real change within the community the group of local women select a local charity or non-profit to donate to four times a year.
Carl Cruise-Baxter, Trans Peer Outreach Worker with CMHA HKPR said “This will allow us to help more family, friends, caregivers, and loved ones of individuals who are trans, non-binary, or gender questioning”.
