A Cobourg resident was recently a victim of fraud.
In December of 2021 police say they received a report from a Cobourg resident that multiple loans had been taken out in their name from a financial institution without their knowledge or consent.
After a lengthy investigation police say they were able to identify a suspect.
The 32-year-old woman from Mississauga has been arrested and charged with Identity Fraud, Making a False Statement, Uttering a Forged Document, Fraud under 5-thousand, and Possesion of Proceeds Obtained by crime.
The woman was released on an Undertaking with an pending court date.
