Body & Sole opened officially on Saturday, October 1st at 8 Loyalist Drive, Unit 9 in Brighton, Ontario.
It is the brainchild of Olivia Flegg, a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and Beth Greenly a Canadian Certified Pedorthist dispensing Custom Orthotics.
“After 2 years of constant planning and brainstorming, our dream finally became a reality,” said Beth Greenly. “Our vision was to create a brand that doesn’t just focus on one therapy but the body and mind connection. Physical and mental health hold importance and having both to offer under one roof.”
Olivia and Beth both have experience in different health care settings.
“We wanted to create an atmosphere that targets and respects all health care professionals and promotes a team-based focus,” added Olivia Flegg. “All health care works hand in hand.”
Through personalized guidance and immense support, their team of licensed professionals want to help meet your health-related needs.
“We want to provide patients with all the tools they need to walk out happier and more satisfied than ever before,” added Beth Greenly.
The practice will include:
– Registered Massage Therapy
o The practice of Massage Therapy is the assessment of the soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissues and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function, or relieve pain.
– Pedorthics
o Canadian Certified Pedorthists – C. Ped (C) – are custom-made foot orthotic and orthopaedic footwear experts. They are one of the few healthcare professionals trained in the assessment of lower limb anatomy and muscle and joint function. With specialized education and training in custom-made orthotics and footwear, Canadian Certified Pedorthists help to alleviate pain, abnormalities, and debilitating conditions of the lower limbs and feet. As members of patients’ healthcare teams, Canadian Certified Pedorthists work with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers. The goal of every Canadian Certified Pedorthist is to help patients achieve and maintain proper foot care and lower limb health so they can live healthy, active lives.
– Osteopathy
o Manual Osteopathy is a form of drug-free non-invasive manual medicine that focuses on total body health by treating and strengthening the musculoskeletal
framework, which includes the joints, muscles and spine. Its aim is to positively affect the body’s nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems. The goal of an osteopathic manual treatment is to restore the normal functioning of the affected areas of the body with somatic dysfunctions by stimulating a more appropriate healing process and interrelations between different systems of the human body (musculoskeletal, nervous, circulatory, pulmonary, digestive system, etc).
– Psychotherapy
o Psychotherapy is primarily a talk-based therapy and is intended to help people improve and maintain their mental health and well-being. Registered Psychotherapists work with individuals, couples and families in individual and group settings. Psychotherapy occurs when the Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and client enter into a psychotherapeutic relationship where both work together to bring about positive change in the client’s thinking, feeling, behaviour and social functioning. Individuals usually seek psychotherapy when they have thoughts, feelings, moods and behaviours that are adversely affecting their day-to-day lives, relationships and the ability to enjoy life.
