For 11 years the Brighton Leos have hosted a fundraiser in support of the Lions Dog Guide Foundation – and this Saturday they’re doing it again.
That’s East Northumberland Secondary School student Logan Lloyd – who’s president of the Brighton Leos.
He explained a bit about the fundraiser.
During this Saturday’s sale of the gifts at Sobeys, Leos members will be on-site helping and accepting cash donations.
East Northumberland Secondary Student and Leos vice president Lara Echeverria says a community effort brings it all together.
It takes $35,000 to breed, raise and train a guide dog. The Leos initiative pays the freight and there is no charge to the beneficiary.
375 gifts are wrapped and ready for sale Saturday December 3rd at Sobeys in Brighton.
All of the money raised by the Leos initiative funds the “ADOPT A PUPPY PROGRAMME” providing care and support for future dog guides during their first year with the foundation to provide a dog guide for every person in need.
