The “We Can’t Wait” campaign has launched in support of Campbellford’s Campus of Care
On a rainy October morning, Campbellford Memorial Hosptial announced that local farmer Jim Curle had donated nearly 50 acres to build the proposed Campus of Care.
The campus will include a new hospital as well as Long-Term Care home and Community Mental Health Clinic and they’re ready for the next step which is a crucial one – a provincial planning grant.
The approval will not only provide the funds required to plan and design the new facility, but also provides the needed regulatory authorization. “Simply put,” stated CMH Foundation Executive Director John Russell, “we’ve gone as far as we can without that planning grant.”
The Rotary Club and Lions Clubs are both on board and are behind many of the lawn signs you may have seen starting to pop up in Trent Hills supporting the We Can’t Wait campaign.
We Can’t Wait is aimed at driving home the community’s support for the project and this is where you can help.
Drop by the hospital and place your card on the Wall of Wishes at CMH, or share a photo or post on social media with the hashtags: #mynewCMH, #DavidPiccini, #DaveSmith, #SylviaJones, #RicBresee, #ToddSmith.
You can also contact your local MPP, David Piccini at 905 372-4000 or david.piccini@pc.ola.org as well as the Minister for Health Sylvia Jones at sylvia.jones@pc.ola.org
