Thanks to the generosity of Part Time CFO Services LLP the Northumberland Backyard project is nearly halfway to it’s goal of raising $255,000 to create a fully accessible outdoor “backyard” space for treatment, recreation, cultural awareness and education programs.
Five Counties Children’s Centre CEO Scott Pepin told us they work to make treatment feel more like having fun.
Part Time CFO Services LLP President Darryl Goodall stated this is just the type of project they like to support.
According to Pepin there will be multiple beneficiaries to the backyard project.
The backyard project will see the large yard behind Five Counties in Cobourg transformed into an outdoor green space available to clients, families and visitors of the partners and other community program providers. Their vision is to install fencing and an accessible playground as well as sensory play equipment, an accessible garden area, gazebo, storage space and eventually a track.
Pepin gave us some idea of the timeline they’re working on.
Scott told us about how the space will be used.
Currently the backyard area cannot be used due to safety, traffic and accessibility concerns.
