The Belleville Senators a going young. The American Hockey League franchise has signed 8-year-old Peter Owens to a one-day league contract.
Peter is being treated for Ewing Sarcoma bone cancer. Under his AHL agreement he’s spending today with the team including participating in pregame activities and player introductions tonight when the Senators host the Laval Rocket at CAA arena.
Owens who plays hockey for the Centre Hastings Grizzlies says he’s grateful for all the support from the community, his coaches and especially his teacher Mrs. Hill, and the rest of the staff at Central Hastings School.
