It’s Emergency Preparedness Week.
In Northumberland, the county’s Community Emergency Management Coordinators will host the ‘Disaster Dining Challenge’ in Baltimore.
Emergency management personnel from local municipalities will be tasked with creating culinary masterpieces without the benefit of electricity, using the non-perishable food typically found in a household emergency preparedness kit.
The event is an opportunity to shine a light on the importance of having a fully equipped emergency kit to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours.
