The Colborne Art Gallery has started its new themed exhibit called “Reflections”. This themed show has its members showcasing their art as it relates to reflections that can be physical, metaphysical, intellectual, or the spiritual.
“Each year we ask our members to submit pieces related to a theme for our spring/summer show,” said Elizabeth Vercoe – a member of the Colborne Art Gallery. “We had some interesting takes on this year’s theme Reflections.”
This new exhibit features about 50 pieces from local artists including: Charles Funnell, Eileen Myers, Elizabeth Vercoe, Heather Roy, Heather Stubbs, Helen Van Poorten, Ian Davis, Ken Solilo and Roseanne Dolan.
The show runs through May to July 2nd and this free admission gallery is now open for its summer hours, Thursday to Sunday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm.
Are you a local artist too?
The Colborne Art Gallery is actively seeking members and welcomes new membership.
“We are particularly looking for 3D artists, sculptures, potters or jewelers,” added Vercoe.
Their membership application is on the galleries’ website located at www.colborneartgallery.ca, along with all the membership information and selection process.
“We are also participating in the Apple Route Studio Tour on June 24th/25th weekend”, said Vercoe. “And we will be open during the Canada Day weekend too.”
Along with the new exhibit, the Colborne Art Gallery is offering a new workshop on June 7th called Acrylic Pouring.
