Numerous calls were received before 5 o’clock this morning reporting heavy smoke at the Foodland in Colborne.
Cramahe Fire Chief Mark MacDonald told us more.
The Chief said they currently have the situation well in hand and are using thermal imaging to identify any potential extension within the walls and ceilings, but the heat and smoke damage is extensive.
Crews are currently waiting on the office of the Fire Marshall to arrive on-site for further assessment but early estimates are that damages will exceed one million dollars.
