This year’s 3rd Annual Ride for Rebound saw glorious sunshine for it’s participants.
A record number of riders took part in the ride which offered 80, 40, 25 and 10 km routes through some of the prettiest parts of Northumberland County.
Cobourg Police Chief Paul VandeGraaf created this initiative in partnership with Rebound to emphasize the ripple-effect that Rebound’s programs and services have on the clients they work with.
Rebound supports over 1,400 clients across Northumberland County every year, working with people from every community. Ranging in age from 7 – 18 year old, the children and youth served are provided with excellent programs and services that help them find motivation for the future, and paint the picture of a bright path ahead.
Chief VandeGraaf told us all proceeds and your donations will go directly to support these children, youth and families.
VandeGraaf told us he started the ride with one other participant and this year, over 20 riders took part.
There’s still time to help meet the ride’s goal of raising 25-thousand dollars to support children, youth and families in Northumberland.
The Chief told us that a lot of work goes into planning the Ride and this year’s success is a credit to the help of Play It Again Sports and the Cobourg Cycling Club.
During COVID, VanderGraaf gained a keen appreciation for the needs of youth in the County and decided to do something about it.
Rebound provides supportive and proactive programming to empower children, youth, and their families to work towards positive change.
