For Pride activists and their allies, it’s a month about visibility and this year you’ll see even more rainbow walks and pride flags raised in support of LGBTQIA2S+ communities in the County
Ashley Bouman is the President of the Cobourg-Northumberland chapter of Pflag.
You’ll see flags raised in every municipality, at schools, libraries, police stations and more.
Cobourg’s Mayor Lucas Cleveland was on hand to raise the Pride Flag at Victoria Hall and shared his commitment to the gathered crowd.
Ashley told us how important it is for the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
Cobourg will host it’s very first pride events starting with a marketplace and Drag Bingo on June 2nd.
You can show your support for the LGBTQIA2S+ community by attending any of the variety of events planned during June.
Bouman said this weekend will be a busy one, but events are scheduled throughout the month.
This weekend, Cobourg’s first pride events will take place – organized by the DBIA.
