Quinte West OPP have charged a person with identity theft and fraud.
Back in October, officers previously responded to reports of a person attempting to open fraudulent bank accounts at a financial institution on Dundas Street East, Trenton. The person left the area prior to police arrival and an investigation was initiated. On May 31st an arrest was made.
Jeannot Gilbert, a 53-year old from Montreal, has been charged with Personation of Intent amongst several charges.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
