One thousand students in Hastings Prince Edward will get a hand-up when they return to school in September.
United Way Hastings & Prince Edward has launched its annual backpacks initiative for the fall. The program is aimed at families in need of help with equipping their children for another school year.
“With the very high cost of living many families are struggling. Our intention is that this program alleviates some of the financial stress of getting kids back to school on par with their peers” says Brandi Hodge, Executive Director of United Way Hastings & Prince Edward.
United Way Hastings & Prince Edward will be filling backpacks with grade appropriate supplies for students from kindergarten to grade 12. Backpacks can be purchased by families/individuals for $12.00 each, per child by registering online at: Backpacks for Success – United Way Hastings & Prince Edward (unitedwayhpe.ca) (WHILE QUANTITIES LAST).
If you are unable to register online, you can call United Way HPE’s office at 613-962-9531.
Registration closes August 2.
