SmartStart Hub is helping connect families to vital child development support.
This online portal, hosted at the Five Counties Children’s Centre, offers an accessible platform for parents and caregivers with concerns about their child or youth’s development.
The SmartStart Hub is available in Peterborough, Northumberland County, City of Kawartha Lakes, and Haliburton County, catering to children and youth up to age 19 years old.
Families can confidentially register their child, request services, and initiate a streamlined process to connect with the right support.
Schools, healthcare providers, and other agencies can also make referrals via this user-friendly portal.
SmartStart Hub offers a comprehensive array of services, including speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and more, all within a family-oriented and culturally-sensitive framework.
Program Manager at Five Counties Alex Cranfield describes the SmartStart Hub as the “front door” to community support, extending its reach to schools, healthcare providers, and community agencies for referrals.
