“Have Your Say” is here to help public arts in Prince Edward County.
County Council has instructed their team to conduct an extensive public consultation, led by the Prince Edward County Arts Council, to gather input for the public art planning process. The staff will return to Council in late 2024 with a draft public art plan for their consideration.
Public art encompasses creations by artists or artist-led projects that are placed in easily accessible public spaces. These installations can be either permanent or temporary and come in various sizes and forms.
Public art walks will be held in Picton on October 14 and Wellington on October 21. These walks offer opportunities for participants to explore the community and envision potential public art installations. After the walks, there will be casual question-and-answer sessions.
Residents can get involved online or at in-person gatherings. County Arts representatives will also be present at various community events during the fall to collect feedback and gather ideas from the public.
Prince Edward County have opened a “Have Your Say” page, featuring a brief survey. By completing the survey, you can enter a drawing for a chance to win a $150 gift card to a participating Fall 2023 Countylicious restaurant.
Additional information, including specifics about upcoming in-person engagement opportunities, is available on the Public Art Planning | Have Your Say (thecounty.ca) . Join the conversation and help shape the future of public art in Prince Edward County.
