Tammie’s Jammies is back and kicking off with Ganaraska Financial Credit Union.
On November 15, Ganaraska Financial will welcome in the Tammie’s Jammies team, Port Hope’s dignitaries, and even more will help launch the Tammie’s Jammies 2023 campaign.
Jerry Siebarth, who works with the Tammie’s team, is especially enthused to have attendance of local hockey teams.
This launch will mark the sixth official year for the donation drive, which aims to collect pyjamas for children in the foster system. This allows each child to have a gift on Christmas Eve to open and wear. This harkens back to Officer Tammie Staples’ family tradition.
Siebarth says everybody is welcome to attend the launch party.
This just happens to be the beginning of the events planned. The Frankford Huskies were challenged to bring more donations than the Port Hope Panthers during their game at the Jack Burger Sports Complex on Nov. 25.
The Cobourg Cougars are planned to do the same during their Monday night game on Nov. 27.
Siebarth admits it’s never about the numbers, as long as kids are happy.
The launch party takes place 5:30 – 7 p.m. on November 15 at 17 Queen Street, Port Hope.
Donation boxes will roll out at multiple locations, including Port Hope Police Station, Port Hope Municipal Buildings, Port Hope Transit Buses, Candlelight Festival Market on Lent Lane, Queenie’s Bakery, Giant Tiger Port Hope, Giant Tiger Cobourg, Davis’ Independent, Grocer, Lakeridge Chrysler, JJ’s Steak and Burger Cobourg.
