Quinte West is wrapping up its 25th anniversary with a special mural unveiled at City Hall.
The ‘Quinte West Mosaic’ mural, standing at 8 feet tall, showcases over 300 tiles painted by local community members during Multiculturalism Day on June 27. Each tile tells a story about Quinte West, celebrating its history, imagery, and growing community.
The mural was designed and put together by Canada Mosaic Murals, using 3-inch tiles painted by students from local schools, people from art clubs, service clubs, and community organizations.
Mayor Jim Harrison expresses his excitement about having this beautiful artwork on display for everyone at City Hall. He believes the ‘Quinte West Mosaic’ mural brings the community together and highlights what makes Quinte West an excellent place to live, work, and play.
Jaclyn Grimmon, the Director of Community Services and Strategic Partnerships, shares her enthusiasm for the creative process behind the mural. “The process of bringing the ‘Quinte West Mosaic’ to life was truly inspiring, witnessing individuals from all backgrounds and ages contribute their creativity to this project was exciting to watch and be a part of and a great initiative to celebrate the City’s 25th anniversary.”
You can now find this unique piece of art permanently displayed on the main floor at Quinte West City Hall on 7 Creswell Dr., Trenton. It’s open for viewing during City Hall hours from Monday to Saturday.
