The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) has announced new trails and a native plant “seed orchard” at the Mary West Nature Reserve near Campbellford at the junction of County Road 30 and County Road 35.
“The new trails at the Mary West Nature Reserve are a fantastic community asset for the Campbellford area. We hope these new trails encourage people to get out and experience the unique sights, scents and sounds of nature this winter while travelling through this beautiful forest and meadow.” says Mark Stabb, Program Director, Central Ontario East, Nature Conservancy of Canada.
Offering 2.8 kilometers of trails through forests, wetlands, and along a creek, the reserve welcomes nature enthusiasts year-round.
Leashed pets are allowed, and interpretive signage enhances the visitor experience.
The NCC is restoring old farm fields into a seed orchard for native wildflowers to aid in habitat restoration.

The reserve, protecting wetland and forest communities, contributes to ecological integrity and houses several species at risk.
