Starting on Father’s Day weekend, pop-up fun will return to the Shed at King Ed for a second season, adding to summer festivities at Brighton’s King Edward Park.
The Municipality of Brighton has put out the call for vendors interested in setting up shop and showing off their wares at the shed. Applications are due March 15.
“The Shed at King Ed” was developed as a new pop-up vendor space in 2023.
So whether you’re an entrepreneur just starting out or an online or small business in need of a brick-and-mortar location, the shed may be worth checking out. Hobbyists, those with a side hustle, and not-for-profits in need of space for fundraising are also encouraged to apply.
This year, the shed will be open on select weekends in June (starting on Father’s Day weekend.) New hours also aim to offer vendors more flexibility and better align with sports and other happenings in the park, noted the municipality.
What’s more, in 2024, with hopes of minimizing cost barriers for small businesses and the like, insurance costs are covered by the municipality. Tiered pricing this year also aims to make it easier for sports teams, not-for-profits, charities, and more to make use of the space under fundraising and/or promotions, explained the municipality.
“The Shed at King Ed” is in the recently renovated ball canteen at the park.
With rotating vendors, shoppers should be treated to new experiences throughout summer. The pop-up season runs until September and will reopen again for Applefest weekend.
Interested vendors can learn more about rental dates, costs, et cetera, via the municipality’s website and on its Facebook and Instagram pages. More information is also available by calling the municipality (613-475-0670) or emailing theshed@brighton.ca.
