A stop to pick up a Diet Pepsi on Valentine’s Day turned into a $100,000 win for Brighton’s Karen Martin, says OLG.
Martin, 62, picked up $100,000 after winning with Instant Gold Pursuit. Martin, who works as a dental assistant, told OLG she usually doesn’t play Instant games and she purchased the winning ticket back on Valentine’s Day.
“I stopped to pick up a Diet Pepsi and ended up with $100,000,” she shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her windfall.
Martin learned of her win using the OLG app and said she couldn’t believe it.
“I told my husband, daughter and son-in-law right away,” said Martin. “My family was very excited for me and wanted to see the validation screen.”
She is planning a vacation somewhere to celebrate her win with her family.
“I feel very excited and happy. It’s an experience you can’t put into words.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Elizabeth Street in Brighton.
