With the solar eclipse looming, Northumberland County has prioritized safety for all.
“While we are excited to witness this rare event, our top priority is the safety of residents,” states Warden Brian Ostrander. “We are anticipating a large influx of visitors to our community, so we urge everyone to take the necessary precautions and follow safety guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.”
Precautions include early closures for recycling centres and a temporary shutdown of the County Forest.
Road crews and care homes are also preparing for any potential challenges.
Residents are reminded to protect their eyes, stock up on essentials, and plan carefully for viewing locations.
