Road reconstruction work is getting underway in the Marina Drive Brighton area.
Work officially started in mid-April and will be ongoing into the summer.
Due to the reconstruction work, the Municipality of Brighton said Marina Drive, from Raglan to Harbour streets, will be closed to traffic until about Aug. 30. However, access will be given to local traffic and emergency services.
“If you use this road as part of your drive, please plan an alternative route,” said the municipality, while thanking residents for their co-operation.
The reconstruction contract and related bylaw for the Marina Drive project was awarded to Dekeyser Excavating Ltd. earlier this year. Council previously OK’d $1,360,450 in the 2024 capital budget for the project.
According to staff, work includes curbs, concrete sidewalks, and water and wastewater-related upgrades. A section of Raglan Street at Marina Drive will also get new concrete curbs that tie into Marina Drive.
