After a glass container was allegedly used as a weapon during an assault, Northumberland OPP say a Brighton resident has been charged.
On Thursday, April 18, 2024, police said an arrest was made in relation to the investigation after police followed up on a report of a disturbance the day prior.
Police said on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at about 9:30 a.m., OPP received a call from a concerned member of the public regarding a disturbance at a residence on Cassidey Drive in the Municipality of Brighton.
Individuals could be heard screaming at each other, and a glass container was allegedly used as a weapon during an assault, said police.
Paramedics attended and treated the victim for minor injuries, said police.
Police allege the accused had left prior to OPP’s arrival but was located a short distance away.
Police said a 38-year-old Brighton resident was charged with assault with a weapon.
This charge has not been proven in court.
The accused is due to appear in court at a future date, said police.
Police provided no other details.
