Some researchers talk about the power of your smile. It can make you look younger, it can make you look thinner and it’s a sure way to elevate your mood and create a sense of well being according to research out of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Soon, the power of smiles will be felt in Northumberland County was Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie campaign returns, this year in support of Five Counties Children Centre.
CEO Scott Pepin told us that proceeds will go to support their ‘building abilities for life campaign.’
“We are very grateful to Tim Hortons locations in Cobourg and Colborne for selecting Five Counties to be the beneficiary of the annual Smile Cookie Campaign,” says Pepin. “Fundraising efforts like this help reduce wait times and ensure more children and families get the access to care they need when they need it.”
According to CEO Scott Pepin, there are plenty of smiles to go ’round.
For nearly half a century, Five Counties Children’s Centre has been committed to aiding children and youth with physical, developmental, and communication challenges. In the past year alone, the Centre has delivered treatment services to over 1,600 children and youth in Northumberland County. Across its broader region, including Northumberland, Peterborough, Haliburton County, and the City of Kawartha Lakes, their programs have benefitted over 6,200 children and youth. These encompass a range of services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, among others.
CEO Scott Pepin says he is very appreciative of Tim Horton’s support.
For more than a quarter-century, Tim Hortons has been actively supporting local charities. In 2023, Tim Hortons restaurants nationwide raised an outstanding $19.7 million for over 600 local charities and community groups. This remarkable achievement adds to the Smile Cookie legacy, which has raised over $90 million since its inception, making a significant impact on communities across Canada.
