By indulging in a sweet treat this week, you can help Trenton Memorial Hospital with the purchase of a vital piece of equipment that will enable faster and more efficient diagnoses and improve patient care.
That’s right, those freshly baked chocolate chunk cookies sporting smiles and pink and blue are back at Tim Hortons starting this week, offering customers a dose of deliciousness with their purchases translating to a meaningful contribution.
This year’s campaign runs Monday, April 29, to Sunday, May 5 – and the goal is to surpass last year’s “incredible achievement” of $66,618.35 raised, the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation (TMHF) recently announced.
One hundred per cent of the proceeds from every Smile Cookie sold at participating Tim Hortons’ locations in Trenton will be donated to the foundation to support the purchase of a new portable ultrasound machine.
In Trenton, the campaign has been described as a tremendous success in previous years,
showcasing the community’s unwavering commitment to enhancing healthcare services at the hospital, noted the foundation, in a recent release.
The portable ultrasound machine is described as a vital piece of equipment that will allow for faster and more efficient diagnoses, directly improving patient care at the hospital, explained the foundation.
“Buy a cookie! It’s a great opportunity to support your local hospital,” encouraged local Tim Hortons’ owner Josephine Robertson.
Residents looking to join “an amazing team of volunteers” are also needed for the campaign – email volunteer@tmhfoundation.com, or call 613-392-2540 ext. 5401 to learn more.
The Smile Cookie campaign is an annual fundraising initiative that aims to bring together communities nationwide and supports various charities and local groups.
