A Brighton youth is facing an assault charge after an alleged altercation, say Northumberland OPP.
On Thursday, May 2, at about 8:45 a.m., police said they responded to a report of an alleged altercation in the Elizabeth Street Brighton area.
After police arrived, they said they started an investigation into the alleged incident.
Paramedics also responded to assess injuries to a victim, reported OPP.
As a result of an investigation, police said a 16-year-old Brighton resident was charged with assault.
This charge has not been proven in court.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court later, said police.
The identity of the accused is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), added police.
