The community is coming together through a “special Sandbanks campaign” to help the Humane Society of Hastings Prince Edward.
From April 29 to May 26, Sandbanks Winery has agreed to donate $1 from the sale of select bottles of Sandbanks wine sold in LCBO stores across Ontario to help the humane society help furry friends in need.
Through its parent company Arterra Wines Canada, Sandbanks Winery has committed to raising much-needed support for animals in need through the sale of its Baco Noir, Pinot Grigio and Summer White wines across the province, the humane society has announced.
“This is an opportunity for Sandbanks, through the co-operation of LCBO, to help the humane society with its increase of in-takes and the rising costs for the care for the animals,” said Michelle McIntyre, estate manager at Sandbanks Winery. “We hope this will be a win-win for HSHPE, the animals in their care, and for our clients to support this community animal service organization while enjoying our variety of wonderful wines.”
The select bottles of wine will also be dressed with a neck tag promoting the campaign to support the daily operations of HSHPE and with hopes of increasing awareness around shelters caring for animals that have been abandoned, neglected, abused or surrendered, organizers explained, in a recent release.
What’s more, these select Sandbanks bottles in local LCBO stores – Belleville, Picton, Rossmore, Trenton and Wellington – will include four all natural, baked and dehydrated pup treats provided by Chantelle and Gary McCracken, of Pawrecious Pets Pet Sitting Inc. of Prince Edward County.
“Everyone at HSHPE is overwhelmed by this special Sandbanks campaign,” added Fred Armitage, an HSHPE board member. “We are extremely grateful to Michelle McIntyre and her team at Sandbanks Winery, the LCBO and Pawrecious Pets Pet Sitting for this special partnership.
“The humane society is very fortunate to have such wonderful caring and compassionate friends who go the extra mile to benefit both ends of the leash.”
