After responding to a report of a person allegedly causing damage to a Brighton residence, Northumberland OPP say they’ve laid a mischief charge.
Last Saturday, at about 9 a.m., police said they responded to a report of a person causing damage to a residence on Meade Street in the Municipality of Brighton.
Shortly afterwards, the accused was located within the building and arrested by officers, reported OPP, on Tuesday.
As a result of an investigation, police said a 47-year-old resident with no fixed address was charged with mischief over $5,000.
This charge has not been proven in court.
The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on May 6, 2024, reported OPP.
No other details were provided by police.
