Brighton’s Concerts in the Park are back at Memorial Park starting this Wednesday, June 5.
Community events committee chair Lloyd Hutchinson says plans are for the concerts to return for 13 straight weeks.
After the Bentwood Rocker band heats things up for the opening show, the Fiddleheads are up next on June 12.
The Concerts in the Park series will return weekly through to Aug. 28 when the Brighton All Stars Concert Band closes out the summer.
As part of the festivities, you can also expect summer eats and treats, says Hutchinson.
Just Like Granny’s will have their butter tarts, cookies, and more for purchase, too.
The committee is also teaming up with the food bank and Sunny Days through a fundraising 50/50 draw again this year. There will be draws weekly.
“They were very pleased with the outcome from last year … it helps them out considerably.”
Concertgoers will also welcome new performers this year.
“I’m looking forward to it – it’s going to be an exciting year for Concerts in the Park,” adds Hutchinson.
You can take in the live music under the open sky weekly on Wednesdays at Memorial Park downtown Brighton starting at 6:30 p.m.
In the event of inclement weather, performances fall to Thursdays.
