The Ontario Public Services Employee Union (OPSEU) says it’s going to be a “dry summer” as thousands of Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) workers walked off the job after the strike deadline passed without a new deal for employees.
Gonorthumberland.ca spoke with Jenna Mowbray, OPSEU unit steward, who told us they’d like to see more full-time jobs.
She says currently around 70 per cent of the workforce is casual with no guaranteed hours and no benefits.
Mowbray had this message to share with community members who may be inconvenienced by this strike
All LCBO locations will remain closed for the next 14 days however online orders will still be available to consumers.
