After playing the lottery for nearly three decades, a Trenton security guard has hit the big one, taking home $1 million.
The Lotto Max odds have shone in favour of David Remus with a $1-million Maxmillions prize in an April Lotto Max draw, OLG announced via a press release on Tuesday, July 9.
Remus has been playing the lottery with OLG for nearly three decades, reads the release.
“I was checking some tickets I had purchased over the past couple of months. When I scanned one of the last few tickets, I thought I had won $100,000,” he said, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “Turns out, it was actually $1 million!”
The married father of two recalled sharing the good news with his family.
“First, I told my wife, but she didn’t believe me. Then I told my sons, and they didn’t believe me either.”
With his winnings, he plans to complete some home renovations and add to his savings, reads OLG’s release.
The winning ticket was purchased at Front Street Variety on Front Street in Trenton.
