Brighton’s Peace Park upgrade project is officially complete.
The final pieces to wrap the project – including swings and an accessible swing – arrived and were installed at the smaller treed park recently.
Earlier in May, the Municipality of Brighton announced work was getting underway on a new playground for the park, located on Huron Drive.
The new play structure was installed earlier, but there was a delay on the swings.
Council and staff recently gathered to officially mark the completion of the project, and declare the park open for play.
According to the municipality, Peace Park was originally dedicated in October 1992 to celebrate Canada’s commitment to world peace and environmental protection.
