
Northumberland OPP are calling on the public for help after a crash on Hwy. 401 in Brighton sent two people to hospital.
Emergency crews responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer and passenger vehicle on Monday, Sept. 2, shortly before 8 a.m. The crash happened just west of County Road 30 on Hwy. 401 westbound.
In an update Tuesday, Sept. 3, OPP confirmed two occupants of the passenger vehicle were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening and life-altering injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured, reported OPP.
The crash had traffic backed up for hours – and the highway had to be shut down for a period as members of the OPP’s traffic collision investigation team also responded to assist with the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are calling on anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has video or dash-cam footage to contact Northumberland OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
